Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a prequel. However, the incident is very important for the following and upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen arc that may be adapted for Season 2. Just after finishing the broadcast; MAPPA declared Jujutsu Kaisen movie will be published covering the volume 0. The movie will be released in Japan in December 24th. Japan's official website for the movie has been updated with new introduction section. The prequel focuses on various figures per year older than Ittadori: it's Maki, Panda, toge and Yuta Okkotsu.

Jujutu Kaisen 0 is a story which takes place one year before the events of the main series and the arrival of Ittadori in Jujutsu highschool. The main protagonist of this movie is Yuta Okkotsu.
